why it's cool that my cousin wrecked his leg

generally when someone in your family hurts themselves, one should feel totally bummed and hope that they are ok. that’s not to say that i don’t hope my cousin is ok – i couldn’t ask for anything more. i found out this morning that he is in hospital with what might be a snapped calf muscle, obtained while playing soccer last night. yeah, oooowwwww was the same thought i had when i got the message.

this is where there is some light at the end of the tunnel. it just so happens it’s my tricked up tech cousin that has turned to twitter to keep everyone up to date with his progress. yet another example of twitter coming through in a disaster!! i know when he went for an ultrasound, what the prognosis was, good doctor, bad doctor, good nurse and just about everything in a blow by blow account. sure he could send an sms to everyone – but that is expensive. and this is instant to everyone that follows him, i.e. friends and family.

i shouldn’t sound excited, and i’m not, but it is a nice form of technology allowing convenience through new communication infrastructure. hope you’re ok ian.
